About Dictyosperma album var. album
This species is a tall, solitary palm with a slender trunk, somewhat swollen at the base and a prominent, pale crownshaft on top. Its crown is topped with dark green, feather shaped, arching leaves. A unique feature of this species is the leaflet tips which often stay joined together, which creates quite a distinctive appearance. While this species is widely cultivated in tropical climates, it has been farmed to near extinction in its native habitat.
