This is a recently discovered species, native to the mountains of northern Thailand.  It was observed growing on ridge tops and limestone cliffs at medium elevations.  It has a slender, smooth, brown trunk and a small crown of densely upright deeply dissected stiff green leaves.  Juveniles may have their trunks covered in fibers from old leaf sheaths, typical of other species in the genus.  The inflorescences emerge from within the leaves and when in bloom, will have small round flowers.  Still quite rare in cultivation.
