About Syagrus coronata

This species is a solitary palm with a slender, gray trunk, which is often covered in old leaf bases that form an attractive pattern. It has a crown of large, slightly arched semi-plumose leaves. The foliage is stiff and silvery on the undersides. It has a variety of commercial uses, including food, medicines, oils and fiber.

Cultivation Tips

Select a location that receives partial shade to full sun, even when young. It will thrive if planted in rich soil that drains well.
