About Reinhardtia gracilis var. gracilis
A small and dainty understory palm from the rain and cloud forests. The crown consists of relatively small divided leaves that usually feature only two broad leaflets per side, giving the palm a very distinctive and minimalist appearance, while the leaflets themselves display unusual translucent “windows” near their bases. Its inflorescences emerge among the leaves and produce small fruits that mature through darker shades as they ripen. Native to Central America, this uncommon species is especially admired by palm enthusiasts for its highly ornamental foliage and unique leaflet structure unlike nearly any other cultivated palm.

Cultivation Tips
Under humid and shady conditions it is easily grown and develops quickly into an exceptional container plant or a most stunning understory palm for the subtropical or tropical garden. Plant in a sheltered location in a position that receives full to partial shade. Soil should be kept moist, but well drained. Fertilizer occasionally during the growing season with a high quality palm fertililzer.
