This is a solitary palm with a stout, upright trunk that gives way to a compact, symmetrical crown. A smooth, green crownshaft is present, adding a clean, polished transition between trunk and foliage. The crown is composed of stiff, upright to slightly arching pinnate leaves with densely packed, narrow leaflets that create a cycad-like appearance—hence the species name cycadifolia. Its inflorescences emerge from below the crownshaft and produce typical Ravenea branching flower structures, which later develop into small, rounded fruits. The fruit matures to darker tones, often contrasting subtly against the structured foliage above. This recently discovered species is rarely seen in cultivation and is notable for its unusual leaf structure within the genus.
