About Neoveitchia storckii
In the wild, this species can be found in rainforests. Its is considered endangered due to habitat loss. This is a solitary, moderately stout palm with a light colored trunk on an expanded base. The crownshaft is distinctive being incompletely formed and is a glossy dark green to black. It's canopy is topped with 12-15 fully, leafy fronds. The inflorescence arises below the crown shaft. It starts out white before turning dark green. The fruit are large and turn red as they ripen. Rare in cultivation.

Cultivation Tips
This species is distinctly tropical in its requirements. Plant in a sheltered location that provides some shade when young. As it matures, it can handle full sun. Water frequently and ensure the soil drains well. Do not let roots dry out in between watering. It is fairly tolerant of a variety of soil types. Feed regularly during the growling season with a high quality palm fertilizer.
