About Livistona decora
Formerly Livistona decipiens. This is a solitary palm with a trunk with thatch or it may be cleaned to show the scarred texture where generations of leaves have separated. Its crown has palmate leaves that terminate in drooping, ribbon-like leaflets. The leaves are a glossy dark green on the top and a lighter green on the bottom, and are attached to a spiny petiole. It produces small, yellow-green flowers that grow in clusters on branched inflorescences that emerge from among the leaves. The fruit is small and round and turns black as it becomes ripe.

Cultivation Tips
It prefers a warm and humid climate and can tolerate partial shade or full sun exposure. It will thrive in rich organic soil that is kept evenly moist, but not waterlogged. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out before watering again. In general, it is better to underwater than overwater, as it is sensitive to root rot. Feed with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer once a month during the growing season (spring and summer).
