About Livistona australis
This solitary palm has a tall, slender, smooth gray trunk. When mature, the trunk is often covered with a skirt of dead fronds underneath. The crown has glossy green leaves divided into narrow pendant segments that are fan-shaped and arranged on petioles that are 2 meters long. In the summer, the tree produces flower spikes with sprigs of cream-white flowers.

Cultivation Tips
Plant in a sheltered position in a fertile moist but well-drained soil that is preferably neutral to acidic. In habitat, these grow in forests and, especially when young, require some shade from the sun for at least part of the day Although this species prefers a deep moist soil, they can also succeed in dry climates. Feed occasionally during the growing season with a high quality palm fertilizer.
