About Licuala fordiana
Found naturally occurring in lowland rainforests. This is a medium sized, solitary palm with slender stems. The leaves are circular and divided into narrow segments, forming a pinwheel appearance. Its petioles have small, black spines along the margins. When in bloom, the inflorescence is upright and emerges from within the leaves. The oval shaped fruit turns red as it ripens. Still quite rare in cultivation.

Cultivation Tips
Select a sheltered location that receives full to partial shade, especially when young. As it matures, it can handle some indirect sunglight. Plant in rich soil with good drainage. Water regularly, as this species will thrive in rich, moist soil and humid conditions. Feed occasionally during the growing season with a high quality palm fertilizer.
