About Johannesteijsmannia altifrons
Surely one of the most stunning and spectacular palms in the world. The diamond shaped leaves are large, feather-like and arranged in a rosette pattern. They are green on top and silvery on the bottom. The trunk is usually about 12 inches in diameter and is covered in a fibrous layer of leaf bases. It is prized for its ornamental value, with its striking leaves and stately form making it a popular landscape plant.

Cultivation Tips
Plant in a location that receives filtered sunlight and partial shade in a warm, sheltered well drained position. This species is surprisingly cold tolerant. It's important to take precautions not to distribute it's roots, so extremely careful when potting, and it's not ideal to replant. It thrives in high humidity and needs moderate watering, but be careful not to overwater and provide well drained soil. Feed with a high quality palm fertilizer throughout the growing season.
