About Iguanura wallichiana var. wallichiana
This is a very ornamental clustering dwarf palm. This is a trunkless species which typically has numerous canelike stems that may reach up to 10 feet in length. Each stem holds bright green, arching undivided leaves with fishtail-shaped leaflets. When in bloom, the branched inflorescence emerges from within the leaves and bears white flowers arranged in a triad pattern (one female flower between two male flowers). The small, oval shaped fruit turns pinkish red as it ripens.

Cultivation Tips
Select a sheltered location that receives full to partial shade. As it matures, it can handle more filtered sunlight. Plant in rich soil that drains well. Water regularly as this species requires consistenly moist soil and can even tolerate waterlogged soil. Feed occasionally during the growing season with a high quality palm fertilizer.
