About Dypsis humbertii
Synonym of Dypsis henrici. This is a solitary palm with a slender, upright trunk that can grow to medium height, smooth and ringed with leaf scars. It develops a green to slightly waxy crownshaft, a characteristic of many Dypsis species, which neatly supports the foliage above. The crown consists of elegant, pinnate leaves that are finely divided into narrow, arching leaflets, often displaying a graceful, drooping effect that gives the palm a delicate look. Inflorescences emerge just below the crownshaft, producing small flowers that develop into clusters of ovoid fruits. The fruits are typically small, smooth, and vary in color as they mature from green to darker shades. In nature, this palm is extremely rare and restricted to limited areas of Madagascar, making it a highlight for palm enthusiasts and conservationists alike.
