This is an undescribed palm in the trade, reportedly collected from Irian Jaya / West Papua.  Plants in cultivation are typically clustering with slender canes and a light, feathery, understorey look. New leaves are sometimes reported to flush with a faint pink-to-red tint, and some plants show stilt roots near the base as they gain size. Leaflet texture is fine and the overall aspect diverges from familiar Drymophloeus species—enough that experienced growers have suggested it may eventually be reassigned to another genus (e.g., Ptychosperma). In nursery keys, ruminate endosperm can lead you toward D. litigiosus, but growers note “Patipi” is distinct in form, hence the placeholder name. Because it lacks a formal description and is absent from modern Drymophloeus treatments/lists, we treat “Patipi” as a provisional entity pending taxonomic work.
