About Cyphophoenix nucele
This is a solitary, slender palm native to the island of Lifou in New Caledonia, where it grows in humid forests and rocky limestone soils. Its smooth, gray trunk is topped with a distinct, green crownshaft that tapers elegantly into the petioles of its pinnate leaves. The crown features neatly arranged, glossy leaflets that create a feathery, balanced canopy with a distinctly tropical look. Inflorescences appear just below the crownshaft, producing cream-colored flowers that later give rise to small, round, red to orange fruits. Highly ornamental yet rare in cultivation, this palm is prized by collectors for its elegance and island origin.

Cultivation Tips
Select a location that receives full sun to partial shade. It is widely adaptable to a wide range of soil types, provided it drains well. Water regularly, as it requires consistently moist soil and is not very drought tolerant. Feed occasionally during the growing season with a high quality palm fertilizer. Somewhat rare in cultivation, particularly mature specimens.
