About Coccothrinax miraguama subsp. miraguama
This is a solitary, slender fan palm with a narrow gray trunk that often retains a shaggy, woven layer of old leaf fibers along the upper portion. The crown is compact and orderly, composed of stiff, nearly circular palmate leaves that are green on the upper surface and strikingly silvery to gray-white beneath, creating strong visual contrast in full sun. Inflorescences emerge among the leaves, arching outward and carrying small, pale cream flowers. The fruits are small and rounded, ripening from red to dark red or purplish-black when mature. This subspecies is slow growing and uncommon in cultivation, making it especially appealing to collectors who value subtle texture and long-term character.

Cultivation Tips
Plant in an open, sunny location where its clean form and leaf contrast can be fully appreciated. Young plants benefit from some light shade, but mature specimens perform best in full sun.
