About Chamaedorea microspadix
This species is native to forested areas of central to northeastern Mexico where it often forms dense colonies. It is a compact, clump-forming palm. The stalks of this palm are ringed by leaf scars and somewhat resemble bamboo canes, hence the common name. It is notable or its attractive foliage, each pinnate green leaf typically has up to 9-11 pairs of narrow green leaflets. It is surprisingly cold hardy and can tolerate light frosts. Clusters of creamy white flowers may bloom in summer if enough light is present. Fruit turns red as it becomes ripe.

Cultivation Tips
Very common in cultivation. Plant in well drained, moist soil. Needs some shade or filtered light, as it will rarely will take full part day sun. Feed a few times during the growing season at few inches away from the base with a slow time-released fertilizer.
