About Chamaedorea elegans
This species has a slender, bamboo-like stem that can reach up to 3-4 feet in height in its natural habitat, but typically grows to around 2-3 feet when grown indoors. It is quite common in cultivation and it often used as an indoor palm. Typically, this species is grown in small clumps resembling palm-like shrubs. It has a cluster of arching, dark green leaves usually 2-3 feet in length. The leaflets are oblong in shape and have a glossy texture. The flowers are small and inconspicuous, and the fruit is small, and turns to black when ripe.

Cultivation Tips
While this species can thrive in lower light conditions and even artificial lighting, for the best growth and performance, place the palm in a location that receives bright, indirect light. Water regularly, but avoid letting the roots sit in standing water. This species is forgiving and will tolerance moderate drought conditions. It generally does not need much extra nutrition outside of a feeding or two during the summer months.
