About Chamaedorea deckeriana
This is a small, understory palm native to mountain rainforests up to medium elevation. It is a solitary species with a thin stem and an entire leaf with a bifid terminal end. The inflorescence emerges from the trunk as lateral buds. The flowers are small, yellow, to orange-red, and are occur on irregularly branched stems. The small round fruit turns bright red when fully ripe. This species is still somehwat uncomon in cultivation.

Cultivation Tips
Plant in a location that receives light shade as it can be grown in partial to full shade. The palm needs well-draining rich soils. This palm requires consistently moist soil. Do not let dry out between waterings. This species is isn’t needy when it comes to nutrients. Apply high quality fertilizer a few times during the growing season.
