Each slender stem has smooth, narrow trunks just an inch thick, supporting gracefully arching fronds. The leaves are typically bifid or lightly divided, showing light green tones above and silvery green beneath, while emerging leaves often glow with vivid orange-red or bronze hues that fade to green as they mature. The inflorescences emerge from the leaves and produce small, rounded fruits about half an inch across, turning red as they ripen and containing single smooth seeds. This striking palm remains rare in cultivation, prized among collectors for its compact size, colorful new leaves, and refined tropical appearance.
