This is a solitary palm with a slender, gray trunk ringed by prominent leaf scars, giving it a sleek, patterned appearance. A smooth, bright green crownshaft supports its graceful crown of pinnate leaves, each arching outward with narrow, deep green leaflets arranged in a feather-like form. The leaves are slightly drooping at the tips, adding to its elegant, tropical look. Cream to yellow inflorescences emerge just below the crownshaft, later producing clusters of bright red fruits that stand out vividly against the green foliage. Endemic to the lowland rainforests, this palm is admired for its ornamental appeal and ability to create a lush, exotic atmosphere.
