About Areca macrocalyx
Often referred to as a dwarf or red betel nut palm. It has a slender, green trunk that is prominently ringed. It is notable for its crownshaft that on some specimens becomes a bright red and is green on other forms. The tree has lush, dark green leaves, and feather-shaped fronds that arch upwards. The oval shaped fruit becomes yellow and then becomes red when fully ripe.
