About Synechanthus fibrosus
A small, solitary palm with a slender, smooth, green, prominently ringed trunk. The crown is topped with a few arching, pinnate leaves to 2m long. The leaflets are thin, dark glossy green, and irregularly clustered. This species is somewhat similar in appearance to Chamaedoreas.
Cultivation Tips
In habitat, it is found in the rain forest. Plant in a sheltered location that receives plenty of shade or filtered light. It will thrive in humus-rich, well trained soil. Water regularly and take precautions not to let the soil dry out in between watering. Feed regularly during the growing season with a high quality palm fertilizer.
