About Jubaea chilensis
This species is a tall, slow-growing species with a massive trunk that can be up to 3 feet in diameter. It has large, feathery fronds that can grow up to 20 feet in length and are a bright green color. It is highly prized for its ornamental value in landscaping and is often used as a street or park tree. The species is known for its tolerance of cold temperatures and its ability to grow in a wide range of soils, making it a popular choice for landscaping in temperate regions. The tree's trunk was once used for producing wine and syrup in Chile.
Cultivation Tips
