About Cryosophila stauracantha
In habitat, this species is native to rainforests. It is a medium sized solitary palm with slender trunks covered with spines near its base. The crown is topped with leaves which are dark green on the top and silver underneath. The fruit is small, round and turns white when ripe.
Cultivation Tips
Select a protected location that receives full to partial shade as this is an understory species in the wild. It thrives in warm, tropical climates. Plant in rich soil that drains well.
