About Brahea edulis
This species is a solitary palm with a thick grayish brown trunk. It is topped by a crown of about 20 large fan shaped leaves. Blooming in spring, its white to pale yellow flowers are fragrant. The round fruit turns from green to golden brown to black as it ripens.
Cultivation Tips
Plant in well drained soil in a location that receives full sun. As this species is drought tolerant, it will require little irrigation once established. Thrives in drier climates and will not tolerate high humidity. Apply palm fertilizer early spring to provide faster growth.
