Plant in a location that receives full to partial shade when young. As it matures, it can handle more sun. Water regularly and ensure it's planted in a well drained position. They have little tolerance for drought, so ensure that the soil does not dry out in between watering. This species does have some tolerance to cold. Feed regularly during the growing season with a high quality palm fertilizer.
